Things I'm Lovin' Friday

So I had an idea that every Friday I would share with you
my favorite things from that week.

Anything goes!

Here's what I'm lovin' this week:

A couple weekends ago we went to Ikea to test out couches and to satisfy our craving for these.  Well we didn't come home with a couch (yet) but we did come home with a lot of other cool stuff.  Some of those things were pillows for the couch we haven't bought yet and a couple to decorate our bed.  We only bought the inserts so that I could sew my own covers and if I ever wanted a change (which I will btw) it will be easier.  So today I sewed my very first envelope pillow using a tutorial that I've had filed away in my brain. I can't remember where I got the idea but as soon as I do I will let you know!! and if any of you know please share!  Thanks!!

It turned out pretty good...it's a little loose so I may adjust it but for now I'm happy with it.  It was super easy.  If you can do a basic hem and sew a straight line then you can do this!  This is my new go to pillow cover.  And how great is that fabric?

This beauty was $20...We had these dinky stick lamps for years and it was time for a change.  It's also from Ikea. (anyone remember the movie I quoted?)

Found these at Joannes for 1 dollar...holla!! Want to go back and get some more.  They're plastic but until I can get some vintage glass knobs these will do nicely.

On a whim yesterday I stopped at our local Goodwill and came home with this:

Isn't it wonderful?...sigh.  I was so excited when I found out it was only $10!!   I plan on painting it and reupholstering it eventually.  It will probably end up in our bedroom.

I mentioned this magical doo dad in my brain clutter post.  I have thought about getting one in the past but wasn't sure I wanted to shell out the moola.  After talking to one of my bff's about it I decided to go for it and I am soooo happy I did!  It has some really cool apps.  I installed the cozi app and now have my calendar, shopping lists etc on the ipod.  I can also manage them on my computer.  I feel more organized already.  One of my favorite things is the notes app.  I think of random things all the time but never have a pen and paper to write them down or I have umpteen million scraps of paper.  So now as soon as I think of something I just type it in there and no more scraps of paper!  Another app that is a lot of fun and a little addicting is this one.  Those birds are so darn cute!

Terrell from  Frou Frou Decor just so happened to stop by my blog and invited me to join in on her link up party and I thought today's post would fit perfectly
...Well maybe not the ipod but definitely the pillow and chair!

So pop on over there and check out some great finds!
