Happy Friday everyone!
I hope this finds you well. I'm still not 100% but Motrin has definitely helped with the aches and sore throat. I attempted to do some stuff today and nearly passed out so I thought that it was probably a good idea to rest. This was not a good time to get sick (is there ever?) because I was already behind on my posts, errands, housework, and so on. I'm trying not to get overwhelmed cuz you guys are awesome and I know you understand. So thanks for being patient with me. I would rather be on here and crafting but something about life and responsibilities, blah, blah, blah...

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.
So Sunday I took all the left overs from the yard sale to Goodwill and of course I had to take a peek inside to see what they had. This Goodwill is way overpriced and I rarely have any luck BUT not this time!!! Look. what. I. found. Eeek!! Seriously the whole set? For 20 bucks. You should have see me, I snatched them up and looked around to make sure no one else had dibs. Then I did a happy dance in my head! I have these two refrigerator dishes already.
I got those for 99 cents each at Salvation Army. They are what kinda started me on pyrex collecting. I love this butterprint pattern and color! I plan on using the bowls. I'm not much for putting things I love on a shelf and just watch them collect dust. (except for these, he he)

Way back when I asked your opinion on my Living Room. Well a lot has gone down in that room, new paint (it's called Dolphin Cove btw), new floors, new tv stand, new rug, and now dun dun dun....
a new couch!!
Love it! Love it! Love it!!
BUT I still need your help.
See that big blank wall above...I am at a loss of what to do. Any ideas?
Here's some of my ideas:
So my first is to paint 3 rectangle canvases with a picture that stretches across. Possibly a cherry blossom with maybe a little birdie? I know you can't tell from this crummy doodle but I really can draw and paint.
Then there is the whole empty frame trend which I like. Not sure what color I would want the frames. Maybe all white with one a different color?
I saw this idea in BHG magazine except it was 2 frames on top of two. And they were each 20x20 and inside the mat were cute melamine birdie plates. I like the look of 2 on 2 and 3 across.
Oh and see the lamp in the table next to the couch? I was thinking of painting it? Good idea? Bad idea? Any color suggestions?
And this space over here.

OMG look at all those sippy cups! |
Should I put up shelves? We don't have room in our "dining room" for a buffet or hutch but I'd love some sort of storage/display area. Whatcha think? Please share...
And I still haven't decided on a dining set :-(
Sorry you're so sick! :( Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I like the canvas idea (surprise surprise!) with the cherry blossoms. ANd I vote 'yes' for shelves along the other wall. You could display your new bowls when not in use. :)
How in the heck did I miss this post?!?!? First of all, LOVE the color of the living room. And the couch looks awesome... way braver than I am going with the white. I would go with the three tall painted canvases, and the shelves are a definite yes.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your Pyrex find. LOVE IT!
