After I dropped the stuff off at Goodwill I headed to Joann's for some piping to finish a sewing project I've been working on. I'm sure you guys have heard of Susan at Living with Punks. She has awesome projects, one of them being theses Land of Nod inspired floor cushions. The first time I saw them I knew I wanted to make them. That was last year. haha. So today I finally crossed this project off my list.
I chose fabric that would coordinate with our living room since that is where the girls wil be using them. I love this pattern! I have material to make a second one so the girls each have their own. I was going to wait to share when I finished both but I couldn't wait! I still consider myself a beginner sewer. I would probably be much better if I did it more often. But with that said this project was easy!! Don't be intimidated. Susan's tutorial is very easy to follow and I'm sure any questions you have she would be more then happy to answer. She's cool like that.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Tomorrow Lily and I are off to Lucketts to see Cassie and Emily and hopefully come home with some goodies. I am so excited!!
Party on...
oh my goodness.... i feel a barter coming on! i have been wanting a couple little "poufs" for emmy's room for when her friends are over so they can sit... need a piece of furniture?
ReplyDeletei have $30 for you... wasn't as busy as i would have liked either, but i sold apair of bobby pins and a ring. the bobby pins went to a lady buying them for her daughter so she could possibly wear them in her wedding next year. it was the peearly white ones, and i thought that was so sweet!!
i LOVE that cushion! It is gorgeous and I'm sure your girls are going to get tons of use out of them! Great job.

Awe, you're so sweet! And that cushion is fab! Im impressed you got all that accomplished in one day!!!! I love getting rid of stuff too... in fact you've motivated me to get a move on getting my yard sale organized :)
ReplyDeleteWell, better than nothing! It always feels good to get rid of stuff and downsize! We took a whole carload to Goodwill today and it felt GREAT!
ReplyDeletethose floor cushions are AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteHave fun at lucketts! I went today and it was sooooo much busier than I was expecting! Hopefully it will be a little more chill tomorrow- I felt like some of those ladies were like OUT TO GET A DEAL and would run you over for it! But it was still so great- I didn't buy anything but got a good fill of eye candy.
Ooooh.......quatrefoil patterned fabric and a pouf! That thing is beautiful!!! And I am SUPER envious of your sewing skills!! Piping...a handle...a-mazing! Nice work! Have fun at Luckett's :) We are jealous over here in CA., so we must live vicariously!! :) -lisa
ReplyDeleteUm....excuse me Andi.....if you can make that AWESOME pouffy pillow, you are NOT a beginner. That thing is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Seriosuly!!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the yard sale. At least you got rid of your junk (and made room for more treasures, ha ha).
XOXO
So cute! Love that fabric. And that pillow has also been on my to-do list for a year, and I haven't even bought fabric for it yet... so you are WAY ahead of me!
ReplyDeleteMan, I have GOT to learn how to sew!!! I have a sewing machine and it's sitting in the box... Andi, you inspire me.
