Doggie treat container spruce up a la Martha

Hopefully I can get this post written before I float away!  It has been raining non stop here and there has been some serious flooding in the surrounding areas.  We have been fortunate to not have any flooding but it looks like we have a leaky roof :(

I'm sure most of you have seen Martha Stewart's new line of craft paint and supplies.  I could not wait to try them out.  They claim that the paint can be used on fabric, wood, AND glass.  So I headed to Michael's with my 50% Labor Day coupon and tried not to buy the entire line :D  I ended up buying two types of stencils and 3 paint colors.

When I got home I was itching to try out my purchases so I looked around my house to see what I could do that would be quick.  Enter the ugly dog treat container...

At first I was going to decorate it but I wanted a change so i shopped my house and found this cracker jar...

I grabbed my new letter stencils and a bottle of satin paint called "Beach Glass".

Here's a picture of all the stencils you get for about 10 dollars.  I used the one on the bottom.

I just taped it onto my jar and using a stenciling sponge I dabbed on the paint.  I let it dry a bit before I pulled off the stencil so that it wouldn't smudge.

And for a final touch I painted a paw print in the center so everyone (hopefully) knows they are doggie treats and not for human consumption ;)

Don't you love it when beauty meets function?  Now this I likey.  I have so many more fun things up my sleeve using this new product!!

*NOTE*  just to be clear I was not compensated for endorsing this product not am I affiliated in anyway with the martha Stewart company, I just really love this stuff!  All opinions are my own.
