Dear Zoe,

I'll never forget the day mom and I went and picked you up.  I was 19 and you were 6 weeks old.  You were such a cute puppy and full of energy.

You never would sit still and loved to play with your big sister Jill.

When I got married you came along and made the trek from South Carolina to California with ease.

After living in California for a short time we added Sam to our family and you guys were inseperable.

Sam doesn't quite know what to do now that you aren't here.  He misses his best friend.

I'm sorry you never got to run in that big yard like I promised.
I'm sorry for yelling at you for barking.  I'd give anything to hear that bark again.
I'm sorry for putting you in that rainbow sweater. (But you looked so stinkin' cute)

I'm sorry that I couldn't fix you.   I'm sorry that you got so sick so fast.

Words can't express how much you are missed.
You were a part of our family and things just don't feel the same without you here.
I love you.

  2. oh she was the cutest puppy! but you don't have to say sorry for anything (well, maybe that rainbow sweater) because you loved that dog so much and that's all she really needed. give sam a big squeeze for me, and give yourself one, too. or tell sam to give you one and you two just snuggle. love you.

  6. You made me think of my Rascal. I never had a dog before and when my husband and I separated he found his way into my life. My life wouldn't be the same without his presence if only for a short while. He was my best friend and my baby boy. He was precious. When he left me, a big part of my life felt like it was missing but I love the fact that every memory I have of him makes me smile. I know one day your void will be filled with just happy memories just like it did for me.
We are lucky to have pets in our lives and he was lucky to have a precious mommy too!
