As I have said before I have a never ending list of crafts I want to attempt. Well at least a year ago I saw a bird nest ring somewhere in blog land. I wanted to make one for my mom. My maiden name is Robirds and my parents always talked about having a business and naming it 'the bird's nest'. They actually do have a business license but it's called Paddlefowl Peddlers, get it row birds? But anyway...
I had bought all the supplies but never actually attempted to make one. So at Cassie's I decided I was finally just gonna sit down, without a tutorial and see if I could reproduce the picture of the ring I saw in my mind.
Please try to ignore my extremely dry old lady-looking hands...I just love the cold weather!
While writing this post I searched for the rings I had seen that inspired me to make my own. And this is what I found...

ReplyDeleteHi Andi...you did a great job of making that ring! Now you know you can do them so well it would be worth investing in silver wire or what ever is the best to work with...wouldn't silver with little gold eggs look great too?

ReplyDeleteHi - my name is Dolores Alaniz and my husband Mike and I are friends with your Mom & Dad. I met Steve at San Joaquin Delta College about 8+ years ago in a math class we both hated but struggled to beat. After the semester ended we saw them once and lost track of them. Can you give him my email is dazzel7@hotmail.com and tell them we talk about them all the time and wish we could see them. Tell your dad we used to talk in math lab about algebra and they invited us to their house and your mom gave me an elephant she made that I still have on my desk.
