Stitches from the heart

As you guys know my mom was just here visiting.  She loves to crochet and is awesome at it!  While she was here she crocheted these cute little baby hats...

She can crank them out!

Not only are they adorable but they are for an awesome cause.  She sends them to a non-profit called Stitches from the Heart.  Here's what they are all about:

"We are a Non Profit Organization helping underprivileged preemies, newborns and and toddlers who have little or nothing to cover them when they leave the hospital. Our Volunteers number 6000+, and so far we have distributed over 94,800 items to over 432 hospitals and charities around the country! Made up from all walks of life, young and old, male and female, we feel every life deserves the basic necessities, warmth and love. Our volunteers purchase their own supplies, and no one in our organization receives a salary. Stitches From the Heart donates yarn and supplies to many seniors who knit and crochet items for the babies."

Isn't that awesome? I'm not the best crocheter but I really want to get involved with this organization.  If any of you guys crochet/knit and want to get involved to click here to get all the information that you need.  And they accept monetary donations for those of you who want to help but don't crochet or knit.

Thanks Mom for letting me know about this great cause so I can help and spread the word!

  1. your mom is so talented! i love them all- little baby hats are so cute! :) and so sweet of her to donate them.

  2. Hi Andi! I've just read your last few posts and love your new white Ikea armchair..what a bargain! I think you must have natural talent when it comes to running especially to pump it out like that at the end of the race..wow. Talking about pumping it out..your Mum's natural talent must be crocheting..lol..sounds like a great cause too. Enjoy your week..xox

  3. That's awesome! They're so cute. Does your mom crochet left handed? I've never seen that before. :)

  4. Cuuuute! I tried to make one of these when my niece was born but it still turned out huge hahaha!

  5. AWESOME!!!! THos little hats are so precious and even more so that they're going to make a tiny little baby warm. Your mom is so amazing to support this cause.

  6. Those are so cute! I've tried knitting once or twice but just couldn't get the hang of it. I think it's so impressive when people can make stuff like that. Especially when it's for a good cause!

  7. Your mom sounds like my mom. She will sit there and knit or crochet for hours and pump out one thing after another. I don't have the patience :) Great cause to get involved with, Andi.
